I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Psalm 104:33

Yours truly (that is me) is celebrating my 70th birthday today! Usually women keep their age a big secret, but I cannot but announce it to all.

Why? Because I have been blessed in abundance through all of my life. I have enjoyed so many blessings over the years, despite hard times. I was blessed with two wonderful parents, a handful of siblings of which all are still alive, a husband beyond compare, and three children who have been the joy of my life. And now at last, two grandchildren. What more can one ask for!

I was blessed in the various jobs I was able to do and the many people who have crossed my path over the years, back home and now in Japan where it is my privilege to serve the Lord on foreign shores.

Even during the sad times in my life, I was given the assurance from the Book of Job, a man who had lost everything, that hope never fails. In Job 11:16-18 we read: "You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning. You will be secure, because there is hope.”

Prayer: I thank you Lord for so many happy days and that you have carried me through many years of joy and pain and still bless me on my way. Amen
