Neom is the name of the futuristic city in Saudi Arabia for which construction recently begun. With the launch of the project, regarded as the "world's most ambitious project" to date, developers mentioned things like an island with robotic dinosaurs, a beach that glows in the dark, an artificial moon and flying cars.

When you hear about Neom for the first time, it sounds too good to be true. How on earth can a country develop another country within its borders? How can a desert be turned into a wonder world? For Neom to become a reality, it took one person (or perhaps a group of people) to step forward and dare to dream up the impossible. Over time, looking at video’s and possible photographs of what Neom will look like, the idea becomes a bigger reality. In fact, one even begins to look forward to what soon will become a reality.

In our own lives, we face challenges at times that seem like a desert - a marriage with constant fighting; sickness weakening our body daily; finances looking bleak; or perhaps a big challenge at work. In the midst of this, we need a "Neom"-moment – a moment during which we look at the reality, but visualize the outcome and change in our mind's eye.

In Hebrews 11: 1 we read: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." And in Matthew 19:26, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, butwith God all things are possible.”

What is the desert-area in your life? Get a pen and paper and start writing down in faith what you would like to see God to do. What seems impossible to you today, may become something you look forward to tomorrow - not because you can make it a reality, but because you worship the One who specializes in making the impossible possible. God bless.

Father God, thank you for being greater than my storm or giant. Please strengthen me to leave my comfort zone of faith while trusting You to do the impossible. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
