One verse, one battle and one important lesson of faith.

In 1 Chronicles 5 we read that about 45,000 formidable warriors from the Reubenites, Gadites and half Manasseh tribe who went into battle with warriors from the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish and Nodab armies. Although the Rubenites were well-trained warriors who fought with shield, sword, arrow and bow, it was not their skills that made them successful.

In 1 Chronicles 5:20 we read, “. . . because they cried out to Him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him.” Besides the victory, they seized livestock of the Hagrites - fifty thousand camels, two hundred fifty thousand sheep and two thousand donkeys

All of us have been involved in a “battle”. Perhaps yours is not a physical war, but we often fight emotional battles. The “what if” thoughts can surely make us as anxious and fearful, as when a sea of warriors start to run towards us.

What are we doing in the midst of our battles? Do we cry out to God? Do we continue to trust Him to fight on our behalf? He not only helps us to achieve the victory over our enemies; He causes us to walk away better-off, because He is on our side. Let’s trust Him! God bless.

Father God, thank you that I can put my faith in You amidst any battle. I specifically bring (name the area) to You. I lay it down and choose to trust You. Thank you in advance for fighting on my behalf. I pray for this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
