We as Christians should become more like Christ in everything we do.

It is important to know where to draw the line. Peer pressure often creeps in when you’re amongst people of your own age group or when you’re in new surroundings and desperately want to fit in. A regular reality check about who you are and what you stand for will help to keep you on track. Remember the old saying: “If you don’t know what you stand for, you’ll fall for anything.”

Since you are God’s dear children, you must try to be like him. Your life must be controlled by love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God. Since you are God’s people, it is not right that any matters of sexual immorality or indecency or greed should even be mentioned among you. Nor is it fitting for you to use language which is obscene, profane, or vulgar. Rather you should give thanks to God. You may be sure that no one who is immoral, indecent, or greedy (for greed is a form of idolatry) will ever receive a share in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. Ephesians 5:1-5

Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18

In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable. Put into practice what you learnt and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

Be a do-gooder. Make your faith real by being an active believer. Volunteer at a soup kitchen or get involved with a community project. You can be a shining light to your friends on campus, in the home for the elderly or at work by the way you care.

“In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. 1 John 3:18

Prayer: Lord, please help me not to do things for my own sake but always to the glory of your Name. Amen
