There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.  Proverbs 21:30

Over the course of our lives we’re all faced with difficult decisions that required wisdom and understanding. Things like which career should I pursue, where should I live, what school do I choose for my children, are the kind of decisions I’ve had to make in past years. I sought advice from trusted friends and Googled endlessly, making lists of pros and cons.

However, despite my efforts to gather knowledge and seek counsel, I still felt unsure and overwhelmed. In that moment, Proverbs 21:30 reminded me that no human wisdom or counsel can prevail against the Lord.

In our quest for wisdom and understanding, we often turn to human sources or technology for guidance. We seek the advice of others, research extensively, and rely on our own insight and experience. And while all this can be beneficial, and there certainly are things Google is good for, it should never replace the wisdom and counsel that comes from the Lord. His wisdom surpasses all human understanding, and his counsel is perfect.

Proverbs 21:30 reassures us that no matter how wise or knowledgeable we may be, or how advanced technology becomes, it is the Lord who holds the ultimate authority. His wisdom can bring clarity to the most complex situations, and his counsel can guide us on the right path. When we align our hearts with his, we can trust that he will direct our steps and provide the wisdom we need.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come before you today, acknowledging that your wisdom and understanding far surpass my own. As I face decisions and seek guidance, grant me the humility to seek your wisdom above all else. Open my heart to receive your counsel and grant me the discernment to recognize your voice. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
