A month of Proverbs - 13 March 2026

Ruanne van Zyl

For surely there is an end; And thine expectation shall not be cut off. Proverbs 23:18, KJV

This verse speaks directly to us when we feel tired, discouraged, or uncertain about the future. Sometimes it seems as if our efforts produce nothing or as though our dreams are drifting farther away. Yet God declares with certainty in this scripture: there is a future.

Our hope is not based on favourable circumstances, but on a faithful God who works behind the scenes. Even when we don’t see progress, it does not mean that he is silent or absent. God often works in ways we only understand later.

Hope gives us the strength to keep sowing, keep praying, and keep believing. Without hope, it’s easy to give up. With hope, we can walk through difficult seasons with the confidence that these chapters are not the end of the story.

This verse reminds us that God’s timing is perfect. What feels delayed right now may be part of his preparation. He sees the end of the road and knows exactly how to lead us there.

When our hope is anchored in God, disappointments cannot destroy us. We may feel sorrow, but we are not hopeless. We look ahead knowing that he is already there.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that my future is secure in your hands. When I lose courage, remind me of your promises. Help me hold on to the hope that is anchored in you. Amen.
