I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Romans 8:18-19, NIV

The apostle Paul wrote these words while he was facing tremendous challenges in his life. He had endured persecution, imprisonment, and physical suffering because of his faith in Jesus Christ. Yet, even amid his struggles, Paul remained hopeful and steadfast in his faith.

In this passage, Paul reminds us that the trials and tribulations we face in this life are temporary, and that they are nothing compared to the eternal glory that awaits us in heaven. He also reminds us that there is good news for this groaning world: creation itself eagerly awaits the revealing of the sons of God, when all of creation will be redeemed and restored to its original purpose.

God's mission is not just the saving of souls but also the liberation of his whole creation. God is at work in Christ to reconcile people not only to himself but also to each other and to the natural world.

It can be difficult to trust God and remain hopeful when we are facing difficulties, but Paul's words encourage us to persevere and to look forward to the hope and glory that awaits us. Let us pray for the strength to endure, the faith to trust in God's plan, and the hope to look forward to the glory that is to come.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the hope and promise of eternal glory that is ours through faith in Jesus Christ. Help us to remember that the sufferings of this present time are nothing compared to the glory that awaits us. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
