Seasons: Sometimes, everything changes - 22 October 2025

The Lord says: 'I want to teach you how to live. I want to give you advice and look at what you do.' Psalm 32:8, The Bible for the Deaf
One moment, your life can be tedious and predictable, and the next, your world can be turned upside down.
Change is inevitable, because as I mentioned earlier this week, many things are only temporary. Change is something we must all deal with inevitably, and as you know, some people enjoy change, while others struggle with it – especially significant changes.
I have previously written about how I often find change to be challenging. I prefer to manage and control irregularities in my life as far as I can, but I must admit, even the changes I choose or agree to sometimes throw me off balance. Then, I get annoyed with myself for messing up what was comfortable.
However, change is often good for us because it forces us to grow. You learn new things about yourself, life and other people. It may not be easy, but it can be enriching. It is also often during these times of change that we draw closer to God – we talk to him more, seek his guidance and wisdom and rely on his hand of protection.
Sometimes, everything in your life changes, and not all change is necessarily good. But, remember this: nothing that changes will ever be greater than our God. No illness, new challenge, or “new normal” is too great for God. Because of this, you can rest assured that God is right beside you during all of life’s changes.
God never changes.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for being there when things around me change. Thank you for being greater than any challenge and that you remain unchanging. Amen.
