It’s never too late to change - 28 October 2025

Yes, God has changed you and made you new people, so now you must live like new people. You must truly live as God wants and you must do what He says. Ephesians 4:24, The Bible for the Deaf
It is often said that people are incapable of change and old habits always resurface. As the saying goes, “A leopard never changes its spots.”
In some ways, it can be true. Change is generally not easy, especially when it involves altering something about ourselves or our lifestyle.
Sure, we can grow as individuals and change gradually due to various challenges and experiences.
However, there are times when we need to make a conscious decision to implement changes in the way we live. This is often where things get tough.
The Bible is filled with stories of people who made significant changes in their lifestyles and character.
Consider someone like Paul, who once persecuted Christians but experienced a transformative encounter with Jesus that changed his life completely. Also, remember the stories of Matthew, the greedy tax collector, and Zacchaeus, the corrupt official, both of whom ended up choosing to give rather than take.
There are countless examples in the Bible of people who changed.
The one thing they all have in common is an encounter with God. So, one thing is sure: change is only possible through Christ.
Today, I encourage you to evaluate your life carefully. What does your lifestyle look like? Where is change needed?
Do you need to incorporate healthier habits? Foster healthier relationships? Perhaps you need to shift your focus from one thing to another, or you want to return to church and reconnect with a community of believers. Do you need to re-prioritise and make more time for people or causes close to your heart? Or do you need to learn how to be focused and present in the moment without technology?
Whatever the change is, God can help you recognise and implement it. No change or challenge is too big or small, and with God, change is always possible.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, that I can come to You and ask for help. Help me to make positive changes so I can get my life on track and live closer to You. Amen.
