I recently started a new position at work, and one thing is for sure – no matter how much experience you have, there is always room to learn.

 

At first, I found it difficult to say goodbye to my previous position. I kept thinking that I could have achieved more, and that there was so much potential in my unfinished projects. I also realised I would always feel that way, and that sometimes, we have to accept that it’s time to let go and move forward.

 

I now work with new people and face new tasks and challenges. It quickly became clear to me that I know very little and still have so much to learn about people and life. These new challenges can sometimes make you feel quite foolish.

 

A friend and I came up with a term for that feeling: we call it the “loser complex".

 

We often experience periods where we struggle with these feelings of inadequacy. Usually, we sit with those feelings for a while, then pick ourselves back up, dust off, and remind each other that a small lesson now may help us avoid a bigger problem later.

 

No matter your age, there is always an opportunity to learn. Whether it’s about people and how they think, life in general or what is good and evil, there is always a chance to learn and grow wiser.

 

God wants us to keep growing and learning, becoming people who seek wisdom. When you don’t understand or know the answer, turn to God and ask for answers and understanding.

 

He will even help you feel better when you are experiencing a “loser complex”.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that I can come to You for wisdom and understanding as I work through life’s lessons. Thank you for giving me insight, even when I make mistakes along the way. Amen.
